Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence

Dr. Lucy Steward, CXC Regional Registrar, will be visiting the Turks and Caicos IslandsOctober 31^st – November 3^rd to discuss the Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence that CXC now offers.

The new CXC programe is competency-based and is designed to enable all students to acquire the competencies – knowledge and skills, values and attitudes that a secondary school leaver should possess.

The programe is made up of electives plus core subjects. English, Integrated Science, Mathematics, Modern Language and Social Studies are the core subjects that CXC will examine while ministries of education will determine the electives that will reflect national priorities. It is selecting these national priorities (electives) that we wish to have your input on.

Meeting will be held on Friday, 2^nd November 2007, commencing at 5:30pm at Beaches Resort & Spa.
